Travel

Laissaud sits in the Savoie, between Chambéry and Grenoble, about an hour from Lyon and Geneva airports.

By air

Nearest airports

  • Lyon–Saint-Exupéry (LYS) — 55min by car to Chambéry.
  • Geneva (GVA) — 1 hour by car to Chambéry. Often cheapest from Australia, the UK and US.

By train

TGV & TER

From Paris

Take the TGV from Paris Gare de Lyon to Chambéry–Challes-les-Eaux. The journey is around 3 hours direct.

From Lyon Airport

Lyon Airport has its own railway station — Lyon Saint-Exupéry TGV — located a short walk from the terminal. You can either:

  • Take a direct TGV/TER service to Chambéry — the journey takes about 1 hour, or
  • Travel via Lyon Part-Dieu station if required.

From Geneva Airport

Take a train from Genève-Aéroport station to Chambéry–Challes-les-Eaux, typically via Geneva Cornavin. The journey is about 1h30–2h.

A local TER also runs from Chambéry to Pontcharra.

By car

Driving to Chambéry

The A41 runs straight to Chambéry. If you are hiring a car, the nearest rental desks are at Lyon and Geneva airports. The drive from Lyon takes about 55 minutes and from Geneva about 1 hour. Please contact your hotel directly for parking availability if you are staying in Chambéry.

Before you fly

France is in the Schengen area; most visitors need only a passport valid for six months beyond travel. The currency is the Euro and cards are accepted everywhere.
